I told 50 people that I was going to do a short urban realist film and I also told them the theme of the plot that i was planning on doing. For my research I asked them what kind of age group would be more suitable for my short film production and these are the results that I got. As you can see from the graph the majority of people chose 17+ and 25+ which I was expecting. I also asked them why they chose this. The feedback I got was that children such as 5 and 10 year olds will not enjoy it because they are too small to understand fully what is going on around the world they live in. They also said because teenagers from 17 onwards are aware of these things they will understand and relate to it. For example gangs and gun crime, only teenagers at a certain age will realize the seriousness of this and can relate to it. In my opinion I thought that 25+ was a bit too old for people that age to see this. This is because there are more of teenagers that are into the lifestyle that I would like to create in my short film such as joining gangs, socialising with other students. Even though I knew what the answer would be in the end, I still needed to do this experiment just incase.
